A submission from n_~!! 's comments - This would be Sopheriel Memeth, or rather, my take on it. I should try to draw it's twin sometime, Sopheriel Mehayye. Sopheriel is an angel of Life and Death, and of high rank in the choir Merkabah, or Thrones. Together, they hold the book of life and death, and together, they are Sopheriel. Or so I read. It was kind of vague, saying that Sopheriel was one angel, but Sopheriel was also two halves, Memeth and Mehayye.
My take on this was that they were twins. Memeth carried the Book of Death, and Mehayye carried the Book of Life. They were meant to always be together, and were both meant to take care of the duties required by their castes -- Memeth deaths, Mehayye life. Anyway. As it was in the storyline I was planning, Mehayye suddenly decided to leave heaven, without telling its twin. They had been very close, granted. Memeth was utterly broken with it's twin's disappearance, and more or less went against orders to go to earth and find Mehayye.
Thus it was declared fallen. But since both angels are particularly important, Heaven decided to let them come back, if Mehayye was found. Memeth was fine with that. Really, 'though, Memeth ended up acting more than a tad "Rociel"-ish. It was utterly in love with its twin. It was kind of creepy.
... I used to play the character. But I stopped because I could never find anyone who actually wanted to play Mehayye for me. And yeah. I might bring it back, sometime. If I think I have someone who'd like to play Mehayye for me.
(Note note note: Heh. If any 'o you lot who actually -read- this have AOL and would be interested in playing it for me.. *Purr* Although as is, I very much doubt anyone will read this, so woo.)
I love the wings... huge and feathery and fly-able (if that's a word) !!
And the character's pose... dynamic and menacing at the same time, pretty nifty !!

Ya'know, I claim to be no guru when it comes to theology and angelogy. Really, now. But I do tend to compare things, mostly religions.
And the likenesses between Greek Mythology and the chronicles of Enoch--everything strikes me as quite similar. So why then, my'young fiend--why are you so quick to dismiss the Greek's beliefs if they are so like yours? Why is such Myth believed to be a tale and these convoluted stories of the bible believed to be truth?
My point is: it's all one huge, fucked-up story (Pardon my word-age). Life included. Hence why I'ma fan of it all. Who needs a Soap Opera when you have friends?
Anyhow, about the picture: like I said before--I love it. The pose is absolutely tear-worthy.
